Your work is yours. Your data is private.

• We collect the minimum needed to run the app — your account info, the books and chapters you write, and basic usage data.
• We never see or store your credit card number. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
• Your projects, chapters, drafts, and chats with the Authority Partners are visible only to you. We don't share them with other users.
• You can export everything we have on you, or delete your account permanently, from Settings.

When you use Imprint by NJN we collect three categories of information:

1. Account info. Your name, email, and profile photo — supplied by you or by your Google sign-in. Authentication is handled by Clerk, which stores password hashes and active sessions on its own infrastructure.
2. Your work. Projects, chapter outlines and prose, sources you upload, voice samples, chats with the Authority Partners, and any settings you change. This is the content of what you create with the app.
3. Usage signals. Server logs of API requests, page views, errors, and basic device info (user-agent). We use these to debug crashes and improve the product.

• Credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank details. Stripe handles all card data directly. When you pay, your card details go from your browser straight to Stripe's PCI-compliant servers — they never touch our systems.
• Your contacts, location, or microphone — unless you explicitly turn on Voice Replies, which uses your browser's built-in speech APIs and sends nothing to us.
• The content of files outside the app. We can only see what you upload or paste into Imprint by NJN.

The optional Audiobook feature can narrate your book in a cloned copy of your own voice. Because a voice recording is sensitive personal data, it gets special handling:

• Only with your explicit consent. A voice clone is created only after you check the consent box and upload a recording yourself. Nothing records you automatically.
• Where it goes. Your recording is sent to our narration provider (Fish Audio or ElevenLabs) to build a private synthetic voice model. That model is linked to your account only and is used solely to narrate your books — it is never shared with other users, used for anyone else's content, or used to train general AI models.
• Your voice only. You may upload a recording of your own voice, or of another person only if you have their written permission.
• Delete anytime. Removing your cloned voice in the Audiobook studio deletes the voice model at the provider as well. Prefer a professional narrator instead? The feature works without any recording at all.

Your data is used to provide the service: to display your projects back to you, to give the AI partners the context they need to coach you well, to bill the right plan, and to send you product-critical email (password resets, billing receipts). We don't sell your data. We don't share it with other users. We don't use your manuscript text to train AI models — your work belongs to you.

Inside the app: only you. Every API request the app makes is checked against your account — another author cannot view, edit, or delete your projects, chapters, chats, or sources. Server-side ownership checks run on every read and write.

Inside NJN: a small number of NJN engineers can access the database for debugging, support, and incident response. We treat that access as last-resort and don't read user content unless it's necessary to resolve a specific support request you opened.

All paid plans are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider used by millions of businesses. When you upgrade:

• You enter your card on a Stripe-hosted checkout page, not on our servers.
• Stripe returns a token to us — we use it to start your subscription and link it to your account.
• The full card number, expiry, and security code never reach Imprint by NJN's systems.
• Webhook events from Stripe are cryptographically signed and verified before we update any plan or subscription.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime via the "Manage billing" button in Settings — that opens Stripe's own portal.

Your account info is stored at Clerk. Your project data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on infrastructure operated by our cloud provider (currently inside the United States). All connections use TLS encryption in transit; the database is encrypted at rest.

• Export everything. Settings → "Export my data" gives you a JSON file with your account info, projects, chapters, and chat history.
• Delete your account. Settings → "Delete my account" permanently removes your data from our database and signs you out of Clerk. This cannot be undone. Cancel any paid subscription in the billing portal first — deleting your account does not automatically cancel a Stripe subscription.
• Change your mind on email. Account and password emails come from Clerk and can't be turned off (they're needed for security). Product announcements, when we send them, will always include an unsubscribe link.

Imprint by NJN is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll remove the account.

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, send a notice to your account email.
